Caminiera. Torino, Inizio XVIII Secolo

About the Item

Caminiera dorata riccamente intagliata, cornice d’appoggio e montanti laterali sporgenti a doppia cornice con specchi sormontati da cimase architettoniche intagliate. Al centro imponente cimasa traforata e intagliata in un pezzo unico a ramage floreali. L’intera superficie è dorata a guazzo. Specchi al mercurio originali. La nostra caminiera ripropone un modello diffuso in Piemonte tra la fine del XVII e l’inizio del XVIII secolo, riscontrabile in diversi palazzi piemontesi, quali Palazzo Turinetti a Torino. In particolare la parte centrale trilobata e i pilastrini laterali formati da lesene a specchio accostate angolarmente, a creare elementi aggettanti, sono elementi caratteristici di questa tipologia. Anche la cimasa riccamente intagliata si ritrova in questi esemplari, in alcuni casi a sorreggere una cornice che ospita un dipinto, come nel caso di una specchiera in collezione privata pubblicata da Roberto Antonetto, con l’effigie duca Vittorio Amedeo II.
