About the Item

This elegant, carved antique trumeau was crafted in France, circa 1880. The hand painted canvas depicts an interior scene with two women at work in a typical country French decor, a traditional tall grandfather clock, a two-door armoire, four rustic stools around a square table and decorative plates over the wood burning fire place. The beige painted frame is embellished with ornate, carved mounts including a shield, fruit basket, gardener tools, foliage decor and carved medallions in the corners. The trumeau is in excellent condition with a rich patinated painted finish with gilt accents and the mirror has the original mercury glass and wood backing. Place this wall mirror over a mantel or in an entry for the authentic Country French look! Measures: 43" W x 71" H.
