The large musical trophy carving above the 24 1/4 x 20 1/4 mirror is indicative of the style of Louis XVI. Hand-carved in oak wood in France (during the 1800s) other LXVI motifs are present, such as the oval wreath of bound husks that surround the trophy, bead and reel, crinkled ribbon bows, a floral swag, and egg and dart.
