Elaborate Antique French Gilt Carved Mirror for Restoration
About the Item
A fine Gilt Mirror with intricately carved crest with Floral motif, the frame with swirled contrasting bands of gold with contrasting white floral elements on a diamond pattern background. Restoration recommended.
The Mirror measures 43” high by 32” wide by 2.75” deep.
Condition: For restoration. Please see all detail photos. There is gilt loss, stable age cracks and losses to the crest. The floral bands, now white, were originally gilt and probably intentionally stripped as there are red clay traces. The mirror is missing its lower horizontal decoration. Despite the losses, the mirror retains its fine Classical presentation.
