About

Oscar Bach (b. Germany 1884-1957) had already amassed great acclaim in Europe when he immigrated to New York in 1911. He set up a studio, and produced some of the finest metalwork in America. His commissions included the Chrysler Building and Rockefeller Center, as well as the stainless steel mural in the lobby of the Empire State Building. Our wall mirror is a great example of the master's artistry, and has an original signature tag on the reverse side. The mirror frame is one piece cast bronze, with a floral leaf and vine design. The center is dominated with a face of tragedy, symbolizing the theater. The mirror is in Fine original condition, displaying a lovely patina of age.
