About the Item

By esteemed designer Edmond Spence, these nightstands or end tables were made in Sweden for retail in the United States by Walpole Furniture. Made in the 1950s, they are reminiscent of high-end Swedish design, which was a powerful player in Mid-Century design. Featuring two drawers each, these refinished examples have Spence's signature wavy-front profile and attractive tapered legs in a beautiful golden grained color. These are a pristine examples of a fantastic Mid-Century design. Condition: This pair has been refinished in a warm golden color. Includes chemical stripping of the old finish. Sanding as needed. New golden stain applied. Sealed using a Danish Oil, AKA Tung Oil. Hand-burnished with wax. Drawers work well and smoothly, clean interiors. Replaced back panels.
