A wonderful edition of the works of Restoration rakish poet John Wilmot, the 2nd Earl of Rochester.
Wilmot is as famous for his poetry as for the rakish habits in his personal life, and was a controversial figure who was popular at Charles II's court. His best known work is 'A Satyr Against Reason and Mankind'.
Edited by John Hayward.
In a signed crushed morocco binding with extensive gilt tooling. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright.
