About the Item

Wallace Nutting General Catalogue, Supreme Edition. Exton: Schiffer Limited, 1977. A reprinted edition soft cover. A catalogue of Wallace Nutting's furniture originally published in 1930 by Wallace Nutting. He was born in Massachusetts in 1861 and was not only a furniture maker but a minister, photographer, artist, antiquarian, accomplished author, and lecturer. Nutting had a collection of furniture which he used as props in his ''Colonial'' photography. This experience led him to start a business manufacturing and selling reproduction furniture which he sold starting in 1918 out of a mail-order catalog. The first catalogue offered dozens of Windsor chairs in several historic styles. This reproduced catalogue includes his reproductions of beds, highboys, chests, stools, chairs, tables and much more, a great reference tool. NPT Books, a division of N.P. Trent Antiques, has a large collection of used and out of print books on art, architecture, decoration and antiques with a focus on 1st editions, signed and limited editions.
