This is an antique compendium book of Scottish history, Tales of a Grandfather by Walter Scott. An English language, hard bound title, printed in Edinburgh, 1841.
An oft anecdotal, but chronologically accurate rendition of Scottish history, Tales of a Grandfather by the famous Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832) was originally written for his grandson. Renowned for the literally classics Rob Roy and Ivanhoe, this collection of folklore and inventions is a wide-ranging set of tales from the time of Macbeth in the 11th century, with Robert the Bruce, the Reformation and the 17th century Jacobean period along the way.
