A rare and vintage Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968) Chessboard art set made in 1991 composed of a wood box reproducing the artist’s Mental Chess Board from 1937 and containing an exhibition catalog along with a portfolio of documents and related paraphernalia. Board consists of sixty-four wooden squares nailed into and glued on plywood. Limited edition, 167/850, unsigned. Literature: "Marcel Duchamp Number" in View, ser. 5, no. 1, March 1945. R.
