An exquisite Spanish Colonial carved wooden figure of the Infant Jesus ("Niño Jesús"), from Guatemala. This devotional figure is finely detailed with a lifelike expression, large brown glass eyes, a small pink mouth, and intricately carved hair. Hand-carved wood with original polychrome gesso finish.
All fingers and toes present.
Minor paint chipping throughout; professional repair noted on one ear. Natural flaking and loss consistent with age and devotional use.
