This is an antique surveyor's level. An English, brass scientific instrument by J. Halden & Sons of Manchester, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920. Appealing level with a municipal background Displays a desirable aged patina Black, lacquered brass primary barrel with polished fixtures Makes for a super desk ornament – the perfect gift for those of an engineering mind Objective element measures 35mm (1.5") Pair of spirit levels mounted to the top Vernier wheel in brass to the primary barrel Free standing or could be mounted to a tripod Barrel engraved with the maker's mark for J. Halden & Co Ltd, Manchester & London Carry case features the number 26 Labels to interior with dates from 1929 onwards signify service by A.C.
