Cricket print of Joseph Guy of Nottingham. A framed, tinted and hand colored lithographic portrait of the All- England cricketer Joseph Guy (1813 - 1873) of Nottingham after John Corbet Anderson. Printed by Richard Black and published by Anderson & Lillywhite, London, 1853. Guy was nicknamed 'Gentleman Guy'. He was an English professional who played first-class cricket from 1837-1854. He represented the Players in the Gentleman v. Players series, was also a member of the William Clarke's All-England Eleven and played for Hampshire. A rare lithograph. Measures: Height 32 cm (12 1/2") Width 21 cm (8 1/4") Framed height 49 cm (19 1/4") Framed width 40 cm (15 3/4") Condition: Very good, Year 1853, Period 1850-1899, Country: United Kingdom.
