Vintage Hardy Split Cane 'Palakona' 9' Fly Fishing Rod.
The Hardy 'Gold Medal' rod is a split cane Palakona 2-piece trout fly rod with spare tip made by Hardy's of Alnwick. This rod is in good, original but restored condition, with spiral 'Lockfast' joints, butt and end agate rings, intermediate 'Fullopen' bridge rings, cork handle with screw grip reel fitting and a Hardy's patent 'Reversable' spear and button (spear is stuck inside handle). Intermediate tying with crimson coloured silk. The rod has the registration number H9412 dating it to 1956. The rod is 9' long and comes with an old Hardy canvas bag.
