About the Item

This pair of metal bookends are unsigned and show no foundry marks, but are presumed to have been made in England in approximately 1920 in the period Art Deco style. The bookends are composed of cast metal, featuring a relief of Dante on the front which has been cold-painted. The bookends are entitled "Dante" with impressed letters on the front of the bust.
