About the Item

A rare and iconic mid-century globe designed by Paul McCobb for his Planner Group line, manufactured by Replogle and presented on its original minimalist iron stand. This 16-inch diameter “World Classic Series” globe is held aloft by McCobb’s signature open-frame tripod base—an elegant expression of his refined, modernist aesthetic. The globe features a subdued ivory background with aqua-blue detailing and bronze-toned latitude ring, complementing the patinated darkened metal of the frame. Both educational object and sculptural form, this piece serves beautifully as a functional accent in a library, study, or modernist interior. An excellent and increasingly rare example of McCobb’s foray into accessory design, created during his 1950s–1960s collaboration with Replogle and Directional Furniture.
