About the Item
A pair of fine English Regency painted pole screens from The Elizabeth Seeler Collection. 19th c., one depicting a young man, the other a young woman, both on mahogany stands, each: 58" H x 11" W. The screen dimensions are 14" H x 11" W. The base is 10" diameter. The pastoral scenes on both screens depict. aspects of country life, with sheep present in both. These are lovely decorative pieces that would work beautifully in many design settings.
Condition:
Good antique condition overall, old repairs, paint loss. Shows well.
Provenance:
The Betty Seeler Collection. Seeler, 92, died in November 2018. She graciously furnished her home in Forest Hill Gardens, buying from well respected antiques dealers and auction houses, including Peter Tillou, the Chrysler Garbisch Collection, Ginsburg & Levy, W. Graham Arader, Georgian Manor Antiques, and Earle Vandekar.
