This is an antique pole screen. An English, giltwood and glass fireside reflector, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Fine Regency craftsmanship with a Dutch influence to the decor Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order - small tear to rear Giltwood frame bedazzles with warm golden tones Screen print scene presented behind quality glass Beautiful oval screen, with a decorative surround and prominent surmount Adorned with relief flowerheads, the leaves sprouting outwards Blue and black palette to the screen decor, with an ornate foliate bouquet Screen raised upon a distinctive upright, with fluted detail at the intersection of the frame Superb arcaded bulb with double scroll motif, above the trio of legs Each cabriole leg terminates in scrolled toes, with shallow pad feet This is a fascinating antique pole screen, a pleasingly tasteful accoutrement to any fireside setting. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
