About the Item

An exceptional 19th Century eight panel Painted Wallpaper screen originally purchased at Côté Jardin Antiques and acquired from a Parisian estate. Incredibly colorful and vibrant, the panels depict all of the sights and activities of an extensive and dream like Classical Garden: Trees, Temples, Fountains, Mountains, Statues, Torchiers and Flowers, all attended by various groups of People clad in Classical Robes conversing, reclining, gesturing and frolicking. The reverse of the panels are mounted with a French Rose Floral Wallpaper. The eight panels are separated into two groups of four and are equipped with hanging hooks for wall mounting. Dimensions: Each panel measures 21.25" wide by 71.25"high by .75" deep. The overall length is 170" (14' 3/4") Condition: Please see detail photos. The panels are distressed and there are various signs of age including water staining, paper losses, scrapes , tears and rough worn edges which are mentioned for accuracy as the Screen retains an incredible and astonishing presentation.
