About the Item

We are delighted to offer this lovely Victorian oak framed room divider with embossed leather to one side and hand coloured antique prints to the other What a find! This piece is a large example and is very much of the period. The leather embossed side shows a nautical scene of a male and female mermaids holding hands surrounded by the swirls of the ocean. The reverse side has various pictures, they look to me to be a mixture of water colours, some seem to be early plate prints that have been hand coloured, others, complete water colours, it’s hard to tell exactly due to the age This is the most elegant example of this kind of work I have ever seen, the condition is also first class Dimensions Height:- 193.5cm Width:- 268cm Depth:- 4cm per panel, when folded the depth is 15.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
