Antique Caucasian Bordjalou Kazak rug of very abstract design, these are the most northerly of the Kazak rugs Circa 1870 The rug has three large latch hook medallions on a madder red field, there are many abstract filler elements covering the field The ivory ground border has the 'arrow-block' design, this is scarce on Kazak rugs This attractive rug is of a smaller size than is normally found The rug has glossy wool with a soft floppy handle, as expected it has multiple ivory wefts The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile, the blacks are corroded and there are a few small old repairs The rug is suitable for light domestic use The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display Additional information: Place of Origin: Period: Circa 1870 Size: 5ft 9in x 4ft 5in (176 x 134cm) Reference: H-488
