Antique Caucasian Karabagh Kazak Rug, circa 1900

About the Item

Antique South Caucasian Karabagh Kazak rug with Memling gul design. The rug has five elongated Memling style guls on a soft madder red ground, there are various Caucasian design elements in the field along with a number of animals and birds. The inner reciprocal border is beautifully drawn and uses a soft green that is very pleasing. The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile. Suitable for normal domestic use. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use. Additional information: Origin:Karabagh region, South Caucasus Age: Circa 1900 Size: 6ft 8in x 4ft 0in (203 x 123cm) Reference: R-2008.
