About the Item

Rugs from the mountainous Caucasus region (now part of Russia) are prized for their superb wool, colors, and exceptional weave. This rug was most likely a wedding gift because it is so well preserved and the colors are vivid and tightly woven. It was more likely used as a blanket because of the quality of wool. The ivory color is a rare addition, making this a desirable piece. Measures: 72" W x 115" L.
