Antique Afghan Bahluli Baluch rug with a lattice design and ivory ground border Circa 1890 Bahluli Baluch rugs are fairly scarce and originate from the borders of Western Afghanistan and the Khorasan region of eastern Persia This example has a fine lattice design containing the traditional Bahluli motif, note the small white rosette flower heads at each intersection of the lattice The main border is a very traditional Bahluli design on a scarce ivory ground The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile The rug is suitable for light domestic use Additional information: Place of Origin: Afghanistan Period: Circa 1890 Size: 5ft 4in x 3ft 1in (163 x 93cm) Reference: D-0256
