About the Item

Hand-knotted carpet in Nepal, published by Galleria Post Desig in Milan and designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier. Number 12 of a limited production of 36 pieces that appears in the catalog Collection of carpets "LIFE’S COMMODITIES" of 2003. The interest in the world of carpet has always accompanied Nathalie: as a child she spent hours and hours reproducing the designs of the carpets she had at home. The idea of drawing his motifs was born during a trip to Tunisia in 1982 with his companion George Sowden. Without explaining how, at that juncture she began to imagine carpets, perhaps thanks to that nomad traveling that led her to spend most of her time in places where carpets were made. Thus she understood that she would have to start creating her own compositions so that the carpet could manifest itself as she imagined it: that is, a privileged place in her home, a sacred place, where she could take refuge and cuddle. His first experiments were two carpets for Memphis; he then continued with Palmisano designing a collection together with George Sowden. From his personal inspiration were born Riviera, Riviera Grande, America, The birds, Ecuador, Panama, Leeward, Europe, Mexico. Measures: 12/36 cm 130 x 250.
