74841, distressed antique Khotan Gallery rug with Pomegranate design. With its striking appeal and architectural elements of naturalistic forms, this hand knotted wool distressed antique Khotan rug can beautifully blend modern, traditional, and contemporary interiors. The weathered field is covered in an all-over pomegranate design while the rich waves of Abrash demurely highlight the distinguished pomegranate pattern adding visual interest and depth. The pomegranate tree motif with its rectilinear branches laden with large seeded fruit, flowers, and small leaves densely fills the distressed composition. It is enclosed with a series of borders featuring a lovely floral Meander border, a ruyi cloud and fretwork pattern reminiscent of Chinese weavings that expertly complements the motifs of the field. Embracing the Khotan custom of combining influences from Chinese, Tibetan, Persian, Turkish and Turkmen designs, this antique rug is a unique piece emanating grace and sophistication. With its traditional sensibility and lovingly time-worn patina, this antique Khotan rug would bring a sense of nostalgic charm to nearly any space.
