Antique North East Anatolian Sivas rug with classic Persian medallion design Circa 1900 This excellent small rug was woven in the Turkish town of Sivas around 1900 At this time the workshops of Sivas were producing rugs of strong Persian design influence, and in this case the design is a classic floral medallion design It is considered that the weavers were most likely to be Armenian The rug is of very fine weave and has a soft colour palette The rug is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and good pile The rug is of fine weave The rug is suitable for normal domestic use The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display Additional information: Place of Origin: Turkey Period: Circa 1900 Size: 5ft 1in x 2ft 8in (156 x 81cm) Reference: R-2277
