Antique Turkish Sivas Rug

About the Item

This eastern Turkish city scatter presents a totally Caucasian Kuba pattern of rough palmettes, oblique strips and geometrically lobed medallions, but in mellow tones of beige, rust-brown, pale grey, buff and sienna. The sand main border shows four dot palmettes on an angular Meander. The condition is evenly worn, but very usable. A textile all-over pattern of reversing half-drop row and rows of small pairwise linked botehs covers the much-abrashed brown field of this west Persian rustic scatter.
