Not only does it have an abundance of high quality materials that are traditionally used in weaving, but also, thanks to the various foreign influences, local weavers developed very original patterns which combine tradition with exotic. Oushak rugs are traditionally classified as Anatolian, meaning that they come from Anatolia in Turkey. Antique Oushak rugs are especially famous, since they appear on several famous Renaissance painting.
This stunning Turkish rug was hand woven in the early 20th century, circa 1920. Its beautiful design immediately draws attention with its whimsical shapes and vivacious colors. Rug’s allover design features a stunning floral motif depicting leaves and flowers in full bloom. The whole is framed by a minimalist yet elegant frame, which helps to bring everything together.
