About the Item

This Turkish carpet, originally from Ladik, a town in Anatolia located a few kilometers from Konia, is a magnificent example of the region's textile art, famous for its "prayer" carpets. The carpet features three niches, called "Mihrab," which are supported by elegant slender columns. The background of the carpet is red, while the upper part is decorated with a brown frame embellished with stylized flowers in shades of light and light blue. At the top is a rectangular panel adorned with small arches and stylized flower stems, which add another level of detail. The larger frame surrounding the niches is decorated with flowers with large corollas in red, ivory and blue colors, giving a rich and complex appearance. The carpet was knotted entirely by hand, using wool for both warp and weft and pile, which ensures exceptional quality and durability. Its dimensions are 175 x 132 cm, making it a valuable and valuable piece for anyone who appreciates traditional rug art.
