About the Item
This fine rug is a Turkish copy of the Ottoman rugs that are today known as Transylvanian Lotto design. Many of these rugs have been found in Churches throughout Transylvania. This excellent rug is woven with excellent wool and has a stunning appearance, the wide ivory border compliments the darker field well.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use and would generate a real feeling of age in any design style where 16th -17th century appeal was required. Hand washed and is ready for use.
