Small Size Antique Tekke
About the Item
A good example of a finely knotted part-pile “Ak-Chuval” with a lower ecru elem (skirt) done in a tree ashik design, with additional narrow pile stripes in X and ashik designs, contrasting with a very finely woven red plainweave. ‘Ak’ mean ‘white’. The back of the bagface was likely plain. Ak-chuvals in exceptional condition, as here, are quite rare.
