The central design has been woven on a black-brown background with cream and beige accents that make up the magnificent tree design with intricate flowers and leaves woven throughout. This is then framed by a repeat pattern border woven in the same accents. The bold design and simple colour palette in this piece make it the perfect accent accessory. The raw materials used are of the finest quality, with only the best hand-spun Silk and cotton which have been dyed with organic dyeing techniques and delicately woven on looms to create this elegant piece. Constructed with a traditional hand-knotting technique which has been used for generations due to the durable rugs the technique produces. Place this piece in a classic interior or a sophisticated modern style for an instant uplift. This fine silk rug can be used as a bedroom rug, living room rug or hallway rug. The manufacturing of these masterpieces luxury rugs began late the 19th century. These Turkish rugs were woven in Asian Anatolia, Turkey in the historic city of Hereke. In the mid-19th century, Sultan Abdul Majid proclaimed Hereke to be the royal weaving village. The silk rugs were woven there were considered the finest in the world, this is an example of the white rug which has used soft rust colours to be in harmony with most elements of designs. All examples used select Borsa silk which is the finest quality for traditional rugs. The Sultan required that all of the silk rugs woven in Hereke had to be signed with the name Hereke. These carpets were regularly woven for the aristocracy in Europe, Asia, and The Middle East. The design of this rug is unique because it is an interpretation of the famous 17th-century Mughal carpet from India, and are most sought after by interior designers and collector to buy rugs as an important element of interior designs because resonates elegance and opulence. The Mughal carpet was exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum and was illustrated in the book called flowers under foot, published by the Museum. The carpet has 1200 knots per square inch, and the entire field is woven of silver/metallic thread.
