The Stars & Fortune Rug by Studio Marmi / Felt wool rug

About the Item

The Stars & Fortune Rug is part of the Kosmos felt rug collection by Studio Marmi. This contemporary felt rug collection is inspired by the cultural heritage and aesthetics of the ancient upper Mesopotamian city, Harran. The collection is informed by the pagan roots and mythology of the city and takes references from the celestial temple of the seven planets at Sogmatar, Harran. The Stars and Fortune Rug tells of the might of the celestial goddess Ishtar and her interaction with earth. This collection was winner of EDIDA Turkey 2021 (Elle Decoration International Design Awards) Floor Covering Category. Kosmos collection is crafted by master feltmakers recognized by UNESCO as living human treasures. Studio Marmi is committed to use locally sourced natural fibers to reduce the environmental impact and to work with traditional craftsmen and weavers to create sustainable livelihoods for small local economies.
