About the Item
:: Minor diamond shaped center medallion with colorful floral top views at each point. End finials bearing elaborate finned floral cross-sections and germinating plants stemming therefrom. Amazing range of shades and abrashes stretching throughout, mainly those found in the corner spandrels in pale blue and soft orange shades. Lots of detail and barber pole coloration and alternating triangles reciprocating the inner borders. In the lower left main border is a weaver addition of a pomegranate top view breaking the pattern. Colors and shades include: Madder root red, sage, tangerine orange, ivory, brick red, dusty turquoise blue, seafoam green, olive green, platinum, oxidized silver, and more. Condition notes: Wear across to foundation and knot heads. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. One end measures 3'3" whereas the opposing measures 3'5". This variation is within normal margins for hand knotted rugs of this type, age, and size. For processing purposes, this and other rugs of the type may have painted numbers on the reverse side. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Turkish Oushak rug made in Turkey circa 1950's vintage. Size measures 3'5" x 5'3".
