About the Item
:: Scalloped center medallion with interior floral blossoms and cross-sections adorned by minor finials atop an open field. Corner spandrel overlays reciprocate the contour of the main medallion in quarter-map rendering of same. Main border in a geometric arabesque and floral cross-section design motif. Colors and shades include: Brick red, terracotta, mint green, pale turquoise green blue, oxidized silver, pale saffron yellow, and more. Condition notes: Mostly even wear across to knot heads with small isolated areas of foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. One area of expert restoration measuring approximately three by five inches. One end measures 2'9" whereas the opposing measures 3'1". This variation is within normal margins for hand knotted rugs of this type, age, and size. For processing purposes, this and other rugs of the type may have painted numbers on the reverse side. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Turkish Oushak rug made in Turkey circa 1950's vintage. Size measures 3'1" x 5'4".
