The directional Turkish prayer rug beautifully displays six compartments with a repeating mihrab niche with hooked edges. The compartmental design features a mosque pictorial scene showcasing chandelier pendants, vase, hair bands, Elibelinde motifs, ewer, jug, and other enigmatic motifs. Steeped in Anatolian cultural significance and ambiguous symbolism, this vintage Saph prayer rug communicates the finer points of ancient Turkish mosque history. Balancing earthy colors and a compelling mihrab niche design, this vintage Anatolian rug is a truly wonderful piece that would enliven nearly any interior.
