About the Item

78777 Vintage Turkish Silk Kayseri Tree of Life Prayer Rug, 02'09 x 04'02. In the enchanting realm of Turkish craftsmanship, the Kayseri Tree of Life rugs emerge as radiant treasures, known also as Islamic Sajdah prayer mats. Woven with delicate silk threads, these magical creations enchant with intricate designs, featuring the revered Tree of Life motif symbolizing the interconnectedness of existence. Originating from the storied looms of the Kayseri region, these Turkish rugs are not merely utilitarian, but sacred artifacts crafted for the devout purpose of Islamic prayer, offering a serene and luxurious surface for contemplation and devotion. Admired for their exquisite beauty and steeped in cultural significance, these rugs weave together spirituality and artistry, inviting worshippers into a realm where the divine meets the earthly in a harmonious dance of threads and tradition. Nestled within the ancient looms of Turkish artisans, this hand knotted silk vintage masterpiece unveils the timeless allure of the Kayseri Tree of Life prayer rug, a testament to centuries of skilled craftsmanship. Its teal canvas serves as a tranquil oasis, inviting the soul to embark on a journey of prayer and reflection. At its heart lies the mihrab, a graceful ogival niche often hailed as the Sultan's head, guiding worshippers towards spiritual alignment. Yet, it's not merely the mihrab that captivates, but the intricate scroll spandrels that dance at the rug's corners, whispering tales of mystery and wonder. Embroidered with threads of enchantment, the Tree of Life ascends majestically from earth to sky, its branches adorned with avian messengers and the mystical Phoenix, weaving a tapestry of celestial splendor. Each bloom and leaf pulsates with life, a testament to the interconnectedness of all existence. Encircling this divine tableau, a border of blooming lotuses and graceful birds offers sanctuary, while inner and outer botanical meanders stand guard, a testament to nature's eternal embrace. Against this verdant tapestry, crimson and ivory barber pole stripes dance, encircling the composition like a vibrant crown, bestowing upon it a regal allure befitting its sacred purpose. As fingers trace the silk threads, one cannot help but feel transported to a realm where time dances to the rhythm of prayer, where art and spirituality intertwine in a mesmerizing ballet. In this enchanted space, the Kayseri Tree of Life rug transcends its physical form, becoming a portal to the divine, a sanctuary for the soul seeking solace and communion with the eternal. Abrash.
