About the Item

An Italian carved wood armchair from the 18th century with new upholstery. This antique chair from Italy has a large camel-back which is set at a comfortably reclined position, with upholstered seat, back, and arm rests. The chair is raise on nicely carved turned front legs, front stretcher and a matching H-stretcher, while rear legs remain uncarved. The side stretchers extend out just past the back legs, and are raised on petite bulb feet, giving this chair a unique look from a side perspective. This piece has been newly upholstered in a velvety flour-white fabric, which is a sophisticated contrast to the dark wood frame. This 18th century Italian armchair will make a handsome addition to an office, bed, or living room.
