Italian Neoclassic Two-Seat Chair Settee, Late 18th C.

About the Item

An Italian two-chair back carved-wood settee from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique tête-à-tête (loveseat) from Italy features a straight top-rail along back, above a double carved splat back in a stylized urn with leafy bouquet motif. Carved-wood arm rests frame the bench at either side, and turn inwardly at the front rails as they make their way down to the seat rail. The skirt is clean and linear, and this piece is presented upon four squared legs, with sabre legs at backside. The older upholstery at seat gives the perfect opportunity to refresh for new fabric to make this your own. This Neoclassic Italian settee, will make a lovely seating addition for your entry foyer, living, or bedroom.
