19th Century Italian Giltwood Palazzo Chair Suite
About the Item
Consisting of three armchairs and seven side chairs, this superb giltwood suite was made in Italy in the nineteenth century. With slight variations in the dimensions, the ten chairs are sumptuously decorated with elaborate giltwood in a Baroque style. The splendid gilding is complemented by rich green velvet upholstery. Fit for an Italian palazzo, this set will make an indulgent and beautiful addition to any villa or modern interior. Provenance: Bonhams, New Bond Street, 24 September 2014, The Count and Countess Martignone's Milanese and Genoese Properties, lot 355; Salotto di Ricevimento at the Count and Countess Martignone's villa at Pieve Ligure.
Each side chair approximately: 56cm wide x 50cm deep x 109cm high; each armchair approximately: 68cm wide x 60cm deep x 109cm high.
