Acerbis Palla Armchair by Philippe Malouin
About the Item
At the forefront of both design and approach to seating, the
Palla armchair by Claudio Salocchi is a manifesto of the creative
energy of the 1960s, stands out for its radical concept that
challenging conventional furniture design.
Starting from the volume of a sphere, Salocchi deconstructs its
form into a perfect balance of function and aesthetics. The seat
and footstool interlock in a dynamic dialogue, creating a playful
yet refined design where comfort is conveyed through generous
volumes and meticulous attention to detail.
Today Palla joins the Acerbis Remasters collection, preserving its
original design identity and reaffirming its expressive power.
Structure and upholstery
The load-bearing structure of the armchair is in wood with
padding in polyurethane foam with differentiated density inserts.
Available in a fixed version or swivel with return mechanism.
The base is covered in matt graphite grey painted ABS (RAL 9011)
or in polished chrome steel.
The pouf has polyurethane padding and base in medium density
fibreboard, painted matt black.

The upholstery is non-removable and completely covers the sofa

Claudio Salocchi
Born in Milan 1934, graduated in Architecture at the Milan Politecnico University. He has been Vice-President of ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale), and has taught at the State Professional Institute of Furniture and Furnishings in Lissone and the School of Architecture of Milan Polytechnic. On an international level, Salocchi’s work covers the fields of architecture, interior and industrial design. A great deal of his works and projects were chosen and exhibited through selections or invitations at the most important exhibitions, events or museums, worldwide.
