Antique French Pair of Louis XV Style Fauteuil Armchairs w/Original Wood Finish

About the Item

A French pair of Louis XV style, carved-wood fauteuil armchairs from the early 20th century. This antique pair of armchairs from France have upholstered backs framed within a beautifully carved wood frame edged in ribbon trim. The wooden arms, with manchette upholstered pads, terminate into scrolled knuckles adorn with wrapped acanthus leaves, with the leafy motif continuing down the arm posts and across the seat rail. Petite flower heads embellish the skirt sides, at the knees, which give way to the rounded, flute-carved legs carved with peg feet. These early 20th century French Louis XV style armchairs retain their original wood finish, with vintage fabric and nail head trim.
