About the Item

Antique American Arts & Crafts, Mission oak & leather armchairs, Stickley style, made by the Oregon Chair Company, Circa 1910. The Oregon Chair Company was incorporated in 1906 and founded by Arthur Kingsley, the manufactory was located on five acres on Macadam Street (three miles from the center of Portland) with access to the Willamette River, so logs could be floated easily to their saw mill. The Oregon Chair Co made high quality solid oak furniture in the American Mission style rivaling the quality and style of the furniture produced by their contempororaries; Stickley Brothers. This set of wonderful antique Mission arm chairs are made from solid quarter sawn oak, the chairs with three back splats and substantial arm rests, the drop in seats are very generous in size and are made from high quality ox-blood colored leather. The seats are sprung and have just been professionally recovered in a very high quality leather, they are very comfortable. Each chair has the original Oregon Chair Co label to the underside, the chairs are in great condition, the oak frames have just been wax polished in Bloomsbury's workshop, they are very robust and stable and ready to grace your home. Bloomsbury Fine Art & Antiques ship globally, if we have your location we may be able to provide a preferential shipping quote.
