About the Item

1930s bentwood armchair designed by Jan Vanek for UP Zavody. The frame is made up of steamed beechwood that has been formed into curved elements. After it's assembly it was stained brown and then the construction was finalized with webbing. At some point in time the chair was restored and then later it received new webbing. The chair has a lovely patina and is in good condition.

    Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. The chair has been refinished by one of its owners. At a later time the old webbing wasreplaced. There is a small crack in the wood, it has been glued and filled in.
