Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning heavily carved large Gainsborough Library armchair made by Brights of Nettlebed featuring oversized hand carved Claw & Ball feet, after the original by Giles Grendey 1693-1780 Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price A very good looking, well made and decorative large Library armchair, it is exceptionally comfortable having a deep and wide seating area. The carving is second to none, absolutely lovely throughout, this is pure art furniture from every angle It is of course a modern version of the original by Grendey which if they ever came up for auction would achieve a price in the six figures, they are unobtainable for anyone of than the famously wealthy and museums Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished the timber, there will be good honest patina as mentioned but nothing negative to note, the Damask upholstery seems to be in fine order Dimensions Height:- 108cm Width:- 82cm Depth:- 85cm Seat height:- 50cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
