Very pretty beech armchair with a pretty tapestry in shades of gold and white in the Directoire style - 19th century The very luminous white and gold upholstery makes it an elegant and refined seat. Classic, this armchair can be placed in living rooms as well as in a bedroom. Comfortable and sophisticated. Straight armrests in solid wood. While the front legs are perfectly straight and sculpted, the 2 rear legs are curved, known as a saber, to give the seat its full style. . The backrest is rolled up, characteristic of the Directoire style. Sculpted connecting thimble between armrest and foot. The wood is carved, at the level of the armrests and the feet, with geometric patterns specific to the Directoire style. France XIXth The Directoire style is a style of furnishing and decoration in vogue from 1795 to 1803. Marking the transition between the Louis XVI and Empire styles, it is characterized by a sober workmanship and simple forms.

The seat and back are well padded (as well as the armrests) to give it a very comfortable and soft seat. The legs are curved, the wood is solid and upholstery nails run through the bottom of the seat and the left and right sides of the armrests. This armchair is upholstered with a fine cream-coloured tapestry with vegetal and floral motifs, bunches of grapes, knots and foliage. The tapestry presents a fine and delicate decoration in light tones.
