Giancarlo Piretti “Alky” Chair in New Velvet, Artifort, 1970s

About the Item

A single Giancarlo Piretti “Alky” chair newly upholstered in Designers Guild linen-colored cotton velvet. Completed in Designers Guild 'Varese' velvet, which is a cotton velvet that is lustrous and elegant. If you look at photos 15 & 16 there are some faint vertical lines in areas of the fabric, this is most likely due to the fabric being new and will be remedied once in use and the velvet has settled. The Alky chairs were manufactured by Artifort in the 1970s. The organic shape offers a minimal appearance but also comfort, making these chairs so in demand. In good condition, foam restored where required, and entirely new fabric. The metal floor glides naturally do show some signs of their age. As these are cotton velvet do expect slight gathering on the seams in places and odd pile differences. In addition, the chairs are wrapped in an interliner felt before the new upholstery which aids the final feel and finish. We offer fast, competitively-priced global shipping. Please get in touch with us to discuss.
