About the Item

This 1950s sculptural armchair by Jacques Adnet showcases his distinctive blend of modernist geometry and refined French craftsmanship. Recently restored in a soft yellow golden velvet, the chair features dynamic cantilevered armrests and black enameled metal legs. About the Designer Jacques Adnet (1900–1984) was a visionary of French modernism and a key figure in Art Deco design. Renowned for his elegant use of leather, brass, and glass, Adnet collaborated with Hermès and led La Compagnie des Arts Français. His work reflects a seamless dialogue between classical materials and avant-garde design, making him a pioneer of 20th-century decorative arts. Why We Love It This piece is a perfect balance of architectural silhouette and plush texture. The armrests appear to float mid-air, giving a sense of lightness. • Desk Chair: Perfect for a writing desk in a bedroom, study, or boutique-style office. • Accent Chair: A statement piece in a living room or hallway. • Bedroom or dressing area: Lovely placed beside a vanity or as a reading corner accent. --- About our gallery We are an exhibition space and an online destination established by the passionate art director behind Jonathan Amar Studio.
