Created in England during the 19th century, each of this pair of Regency style Klismos chairs features a horseshoe back adorned with carved scrolling motifs. The upper rail is inlaid with two-toned medallions depicting stylized rosettes and the knees with quadrilobes. The horseshoe back is supported by striking Corinthian columns. The seats are covered with a red fabric decorated with various animals including lions and foxes. The ensemble is raised on four legs, the front ones being straight and faceted while the back ones are saber. One of the chairs is mounted on petite casters.
